Séamus Clancy

Chief Executive Officer

Séamus Clancy joined Repak Ltd as Chief Executive in April 2014, with over 20 years’ industry experience as a senior executive.

Séamus holds a primary degree in Civil Engineering from University College Cork and a Masters Degree in Construction Management from the University of Birmingham, UK.  He previously held roles as Chief Operating Officer of Environmental Group One51plc., Managing Director of Rilta Environmental Limited and Director of Enterprise at the Rehab Group.

Since Séamus’s joined Repak, Membership has grown by more than 1,300 (to over 3,400 at present) and has established itself as a leading advocate and educator on packaging recycling and best practice in Ireland.

With a passion for the environment, Séamus has led the development of a number of new initiatives including Repak’s Plastic Packaging Recycling Strategy 2018-2030, the launch of its consumer-facing ‘Recycle and Change for the Better’ schools programme and ‘Team Green’ campaign, and its recently launched Members’ Plastic Pledge.

Since November 2015, Séamus has also overseen the development of Ireland’s new End of Life Tyre compliance scheme, Repak ELT, which recycled 3.8m tyres in 2018, collected from over 2,600 tyre retailers and farmers in Ireland.
