The WEEE Directive

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (2002/96/EC) is a Producer Responsibility directive aimed at reducing the waste from electrical equipment, increasing recovery and recycling rates of WEEE and improving environmental performance of all operators involved in the life cycle of electrical and electronic equipment.

WEEE Timetable

The WEEE Regulations came into effect on the 6th of July 2005. It has mandated all Producers who are obligated to register with the approved Registration Body by the 20th of July 2005.

The implications of the WEEE Regulations become live on the 13th of August 2005.
