Producer

A Producer company has an annual turnover less than €1 Million and/or places less than 10 tonnes of packaging onto the market in a calendar year.

If the above statement applies to your company then under the Waste Management (Packaging) Regulations 2007, you are NOT a Major Producer and are therefore NOT required to comply with all of the obligations associated with one.

However you are a Producer and are obligated to deal with your internal packaging waste responsibly. That means segregating the waste and making it available for recovery/recycling.

Producers are welcome to join Repak on an annual flat fee basis. The 2008 fee is €980 + 21% VAT and benefits include:

•  Use of Green Dot trade mark
•  Access to Members conferences, newsletters, legislative updates and best practice information.

Unlike Major Producers, Producers are requested only to submit limited statistical information on their internal packaging waste.
