Repak Recycling Awards – Background Information.

Repak Member of the Year
This is Repak’s Premier Award and is adjudicated from across the range of applicants in all the awards’ categories. The three companies who demonstrate the best all-round waste management, sustainable practices and packaging waste prevention initiatives will be shortlisted for this award.

Best Practice in Waste Management
The ‘Best Practice in Waste Management’ award recognises companies who have a proven record in the responsible handling of their waste. Particular emphasis is placed on high recycling rates and employee awareness programmes.

Packaging Prevention Initiative of the Year
The ‘Packaging Prevention Initiative of the Year’ award is presented to the most innovative and well-designed packaging project, taking into account efforts to minimise the amount of packaging being placed on the Irish market.

Repak Recycler of the Year - Independent Retailer
Packaging waste can be a major cost issue for this sector and many independent retailers continually strive for improved recycling rates and ways of reducing their packaging. This award specifically recognises the efforts of these companies.

Repak Recycler of the Year – Hospitality
Many hotels are pushing to improve their environmental practices as a means to attract more customers and drive down costs. This award helps to highlight their efforts to sustainably manage their waste.
